Robin is Two

Two years ago today, at 11:58am Robin was born and today, as much as I don’t want her to be.. she is a two year old.

In her short little life she has done so much and has brought so much joy and love into the world, shes a funny, cute and loving little girl who despite the night wake ups is a complete blessing and I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect little girl to enter into our lives..

Over the past 12 months Robin’s language has come along amazingly, shes gone from yelling and screeching demands to actually asking for things, she doesn’t yet make sentences but the words are a lot clearer than they have ever been, here’s a little list of the things she can say now;

  • ‘Bin’ – She likes putting her own nappy into the bin
  • ‘Work’ – this is usually used in a sentence when talking about Mr S ‘Daddy work funny’
  • ‘Chair’
  • ‘Stick’ – She will grab handfuls when we go for walks
  • ‘Car’ – Currently obsessed with Cars 3
  • ‘Yogurt’
  • ‘Bless you’ – when anyone sneezes
  • ‘Thank you’ – when given something she asks for
  • ‘Love you’ – This one is my favorite
  • ‘Again’ – which is asked whenever she wants to watch Cars 3 for the 100th time

and so much more that I cannot remember off the top of my head.

She is super active too, she runs, jumps and climbs with ease and has a pretty good arm on her when she throws things, many of which have ended up in peoples faces, she loves drawing and being creative, building little homes out of her bricks and pretending things are phones and talks to people on them, mainly Nanny.

Robin has such a wonderful little personality brewing, shes funny and will laugh at her own jokes, she loves her brother Kai and all the stupid things he does but out of the three she has been the grumpiest toddler, and will tell you shes had enough, she is of course ‘The Boss‘ she tells everyone what to do and doesn’t take no for an answer but at the same time is so loving, at random moments of the day she will walk up to me, rest her end on my lap and say ‘aww’ while cuddling followed by a ‘Love you mummy’ before walking off to play, she is so cheeky! she looks for any opportunity to do something naughty and will laugh at you if you tell her off which is so hard not to laugh back.

I have mentioned a few times in past posts that shes not been one to eat a lot, she was weaned late in life because she simply didn’t get rid of her tongue reflex until about 8 months so shes still a little behind with eating, but shes onto more solid things like pasta and sandwiches, Yes mummy finally beat her little anxiety about finger foods, her favorites are Peas, Kiddylicious Fruity Bites, Skips and yogurt, adores her milk and will gladly drink water when its offered.

She has tried chocolate to much of my annoyance and of course loves it (who doesn’t) but much like my older two when offered the choice between a piece of fruit and some chocolate, the fruit gets eaten first.

I just feel so blessed to have been gifted such a sweet and loving girl and I honestly cannot wait to see what the next year will bring us!

and today.. as she enters her second year on this planet.. I wish her a very happy birthday and that I hope she never stops growing into the funny little girl that she is.

Reuben’s quite slow with his eating as well compared to other children. He’s 18 months now but I think it’s best to just let them do everything in their own time rather than thinking they need to keep up with others their age!
