Heatwave is over!
It’s officially over! After suffering 33 degree heat for almost two months solid, barely any rain in my county, we woke up to a cool day, albeit not that cool as it still was about 24 degrees but compared to before it was amazing.
The first thing we did was to get our shoes on and head out for a walk, I wanted to go find some pine cones for some autumn props/DIY’s and go see if the crab apples are growing, which they are!
We also came across some tasty berries, well one tasty berry, all the rest hadn’t turned black yet, but it was still lovely to see that despite the lack of rain and blistering heat, things are growing.
Who remembers going blackberry picking for pies in their childhood? My grandma and I always went picking for them, along with onions and potatoes after the fields got ploughed, which I am about 90% sure that is technically stealing…
We are looking forward to heading back when the apples are all ready for picking so mum can make her crab apple jelly again!
Happy Sunday Everyone 🙂
