As a parent of now two school aged children my years start and end when the schools do, the amount of times I have had to correct myself when talking about ‘next year’ being next term in September rather than the correct end of year in the cold month of December.
The first day has started with a relaxing day at home, I will class Saturday to be the first day rather than Monday.. We are indoors doing housework and waiting for the tescos food shop to arrive 🙂 it’s also a little warm to head out just yet but the plan is to go Pokemon hunting (yes I know) and get some fresh air which was a complete success.
Sunday was fun day! my mum popped round for the afternoon and we left Mr D at home to work on his website (www.bigbossbattle.com) and head to the park, on the way there we bumped into one of Amelia’s little friends from school and joined him with a fun hour at the local paddling pool, everyone besides Robin got soaked! it was great fun and the plan is to make the most of it during the summer, and while the weather is pleasant.
On the way back Kai surprised us, he managed to peddle unaided on his bike! no stabilizers! I am honestly one proud mummy cat 🙂
I shall be back to type about what we get up to for the rest of the week soon.. summer holidays are taking over!!!
Mummy Cat (and her three kittens)
We went Pokemon hunting on Saturday.. Well.. We went for a walk and I used the opportunity to catch some Pokemon!!
This is pretty much what summer will consist of, walks and Pokemon hunts 🙂
Here in the UK we have been hit by two waves, Pokemon Go.. and a heatwave.. and while I have very much enjoyed Pokemon, I do not enjoy the heat and have avoided it as much as I can.
Robin was due to have her 12 week jabs this week at midday and after a few um’s and ah’s, I decided to cancel and book another day, according to the receptionist I wasn’t the only one who cancelled jab appointments, it is very safe to say that we are all suffering with the weather, while the sunshine is nice, the heat isn’t.
We are officially on the last week of school for Kai, The summer holidays are half a week away and honestly I am not excited about it, three kids on my own while Daddy works? help!!! thankfully my mum has booked a few days off here and there and we are off on mini (literally) adventures to the seaside and my aunts so these 6 weeks of warmth and children will hopefully fly by….
I found some information about keeping the little ones cool on these hot days, I look forward to finding something similar with keeping them warm when the winter hits .. although last winter wasn’t exactly a cold one…
Until next time.. toodles
This is going to be a bit of a panicky ramble, so apologies in advance!
Today my 6 year old has gone on a school trip to the sea side, Walton on the Naze to be exact and I’m switching between excitement for him and complete panic. While I am glad hes gone off with his class friends every single atom in me is worried..
Its the farthest hes gone without me, he couldn’t care less about it, the children this morning wouldn’t stop shouting with excitement at the gates and Kai was the same, I knew this day was going to come, and longer and farther trips are in his future but you just cant help worrying.
I’m glad however I wasn’t the only parent with concerns, everyone thought it was a bit far and the fact that they are taking not only his class but reception and year 2 aswell made it all very uncomfortable to the fellow mums at the school gate.
After collecting Amelia from preschool one of the mums there shared with me that they had only arrived, roughly 12pm after setting out at 9:15 which is surprising as they need to be back around 3:30… I really hope they do get back in time but it seems such a wasted day, all morning on the coach and only spending an hour, two max before needing to head back, and what if they get stuck in traffic again on the way back.
It is not helping my nerves thats for sure.
I am trying to keep my mind busy, organizing my blog and dealing with the baby but its still worrying me.
I have told Amelia I wont be doing this again when/if she goes hah, one its a lot of money and two I’m sure ill be pulling my hair out!
Anyway… Back to watching My Little Pony with Amelia until I am told I can come collect Kai from the school.
