A friend of mine recently had a baby and I am now in full blown brood mode thinking about all the exciting things that happen when you bring a new life into the world and it got me wondering about why exactly do I adore newborns so much so I wanted to share with you what I have come up with and just see how many more out there have this addiction to tiny little humans in all their wrinkly glory.

Newborns have the best skin, its all smooth but yet so wrinkly, they always look like little pink baked potatoes and I just love it, they’re little saggy skin not fitting their body just yet. my favorite part of all of mine has always been the little folds at the back of their necks, just where their soft hair over hangs I used to love stroking it when she was on my lap.

Regardless of how you feed your baby, newborns make this delightful little sound when they gulp their milk, their little snuffly noses or gentle moans as they enjoy their meal is something that when I hear it I instantly feel this rush, its amazing what this little sound can do to someone who has heard it before, complete brood mode!

You’ll miss these days when your now 6/7 month old attempts to follow you out of the room, or when your toddler rips another book up, they do nothing of importance besides growing, feeding, pooping and sleeping, Robin is now two and is a demonic wild animal.. enjoy those do nothing says when they last.

While many many women suffer from post natal depression and it is such a serious subject that needs to be addressed more than what they say, a lot of women experience a almost delirious happiness after birth, it only really lasts a few days, I believe its hormone related like all moods that occur after birth, my mum has mentioned that I came home after having Robin in such a good mood and then two days later it was back to business as a mother of now three and full of stress.. if you do experience it, it is the most amazing feeling but please keep in mind that if you are feeling low, weepy or just not coping at all to make sure you tell a health professional or anyone and get help.

This one is mainly just me, but I make sure that after any birth I remain at home in my lazy clothes and let my husband do all the pick ups and drop offs at school, I stupidly did everything after I had Amelia and I hurt for days afterwards, but with Robin I just didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything and it was the best two weeks of my life!

Those are my top five favorite things about newborns, what are yours? or if you don’t have children yet, what bits are you excited about for when you become a parent.

Breakfast is the best meal of the day, and in ours house its no different, my children adore breakfast, almost as much as they like it when I cook a pizza for dinner, but my littlest baby Robin doesn’t get much of an option at breakfast, she just has whatever they have and shes got nothing really for herself so after looking everywhere for something for her I found..

These yummy cereals from Ella’s Kitchen, the Banana and Cinnamon muesli is designed for 10 plus months while the much smoother Strawberry and Raspberry porridge is designed for 7 plus months but I am a firm believer that ages on these don’t really matter and smoother porridge’s are brilliant for adding lumps into them.

We first tried out the Banana and Cinnamon muesli which included lumpy rice crispie like bits into them to create texture but they honestly turn into mush with the rest of the cereal, all you really need to do with them is add your babies milk which has been warmed up, let sit for a bit to soak up and serve.

Robin fed this to herself just fine but I also did spoon feed a bit to her too, she really loved it, I did however had to add a little but more milk into it because it does go rather clumpy after its sat for a while but that didn’t really stand in the way of the enjoyment Robin got from it, it was completely eaten up.

While people do moan about pre-packaged food, Ella’s Kitchen is by far my favorite and go to for a lot of things, breakfast now included, I adore their dedication to children’s health and keeping things organic.

Have you tried any of the Ella’s Kitchen breakfast products?

Until next time.

I have said this a few times already but one of my goals for 2018 is to read more, I don’t really read much as it is but mainly due the fact that its hard to find any time in the day to sit down and read, but luckily for me one of my wonderful blogging friends Vicki over at Tippytupps┬áhas created a reading challenge that I honestly feel like I could do!

2018-BOOK-CHALLENGE.-1

I have decided to switch a few around a bit, mainly the ‘Book published this year’ because I want to wait until more have come out before I pick something, so my first post will be going up at the end of the month and will chosen by someone else which is The Rook by Daniel O’Malley┬áthat was chosen for me by Neil my gaming buddy, and I am slowly working through at the minute.

I look forward to reporting back what I have read at the end of the month and cannot wait to expand my reading.

If you are interested in taking part in the challenge yourself here is a link back to the original post.

Until next time.

One of my wonderful blogger friends Caitylis has a delightful little Linky over at her blog that I just had to join in, its to do with photography and you all know how much I love taking a good photo once in a while.

Plus I feel like it will give be a great opportunity to get my Nikon out a lot more often than just for blog posts and flat lay shots!

The premise is to post some of your favorite photos from the previous month, simple and easy.. Oh and of course not forgetting to link up when she posts her linky at the start of the next month..

Here are my photos from December, I know there aren’t many but as it turns out December was a mentally mad busy month and we just didn’t get out often..(Now that we have a car I am going to make sure we do things as a family at the weekends so expect A LOT more photos in the months to come.)

Seeing as we are now mobile, I got Mr S to promise to, after christmas was over of course, to run me to a Lush store and let me experience my first time in one, I have always wanted to go into a store because you cant always tell what things are like on the website AND there are store exclusives too.

but here is my little (haha little?) haul of goodies that I picked up there during the sales..

Bubble Bars

If you’ve seen any posts about lush before you’ll know I am a bubble bar addict, naturally I picked up my favorites which are the beautiful and sparkly Sunnyside, the fruity and citrus filled Brightside and the sweet smelling Candy Mountain, I had to grab two of those because they are just lovely.

Shampoo

I have never tried hard shampoo before, this was sold to be by the lovely woman in the store, its extremely cinnamon scented and really strong but I honestly wanted to give it a try, expect a little review in the future about the product, heres a little link to the product if you fancy giving it a try

Shower Gels

The main reason why I wanted to head to a store was to find a few more bottles of Snow Fairy, as Lush for this sale was a store only sale and you couldn’t get much online and unfortunately Snow Fairy has been a really popular thing this year so I didn’t find any.. But I did grab Twilight after reading about it and another bottle of Berry Berry Christmas.

Gift Boxes

I only got one, this contained a Golden Wonder bath bomb and a Man in the Moon bubble bar, the Golden Wonder was used that night in a bath for the children and they adored it, I am not usually a fan of bath bombs but this one was wonderful and smelt delightful!

Man in the Moon smelt delightful but I wasn’t too keen on the color that the water went, it was sort of a yellowy green but the smell was lovely!
