July was just a wonderful month, it was also one of the hottest months in a long while and its honestly been tough dealing with the heat while parenting, my blogging sort of took a back seat as I lost motivation to blog during the heatwave that covered England, feels odd that just a few months ago it was frozen, its safe to say I cannot wait until autumn and winter which as of now is only a month away.
Yes I have been counting down the days since the end of winter.
This month has been full of fun, adventure and memories. I decided to take the time to visit my old childhood home in the country and place some flowers at the grave that my aunt, grandma and granddad are buried which I talked about in a Photograph Sunday, I was sad to notice that there hadn’t been anything placed at the grave at all and it had become very weather worn, so mum and I cleaned it up and placed some flowers and it made me really appreciate my families past and make sure my children do not forget them.
Beach Life is Real..
It was also the hottest month on record, it hit 30 every single day of July and it was horrific! it has been beautiful don’t get me wrong and the sky has been full of blue and the odd cloud but my goodness has it been hard for those who like the cold weather, However thankfully it was stunning when we went away for our first family holiday and met my wonderful blogger friend Becca, her blog is here if you want to give her a read and I recommend you also give her a follow on twitter too, the children played in the sea and we all got a little sunburn but it was beautiful and thanks to the sea breeze it wasn’t to bad.
We took a trip to our local paddling pool which ended up getting full of rubbish thanks to the idiots in the world, plus we also took a trip into London to see Dinosaurs in the Wild which was so much fun, Decided to take a trip to visit my mum for dinner and saw how much Amelia’s tomato plant has grown.
All in all July was, despite the heat, such a wonderful month for us. I felt very positive in everything and I am excited to see what I snap in the month of August!!.
The ‘Sightings from..’ Linky is run by the beautiful Caitlyis every month to celebrate in photos of what we see throughout the year, if you wish to join up head on over to her blog.
This week has been a slow one for us, back to the normality and daily routine, I’ve been trying to catch up on all the important blogging and housework that often gets put aside when things get rough but I’ve also sat down and crochet for the first time in a while.
This blanket which I am making for Robin has taken me nearly 2 years of stopping and starting.. it is definitely a Labour of love but I hope that when I do finish it, she will get many years out of it.
My mum was the one who helped me learn to crochet after desperately trying to learn to knit for years and follow in my nans footsteps, my fingers couldn’t get on with it and would cramp up but crochet is nice and easy.. well this pattern is, I’ve seen some extremely difficult ones that I’d love to learn but I cannot figure them out..
I saw this pattern on I believe Pinterest and decided to grab some wool from a lovely Instagram seller who had a pack of rainbow wool perfect for the job and got to work..
I only have a few more bits to go but I am determined to get this one done!
Until next time
As last week we was in the car coming home from holiday I never got around to doing my weekly photo post but no matter, here is this weeks photo taken at Weymouth where we stayed.
I took Kai out to the beach front and told him about this magical time called the ‘Golden Hour’ when everything thanks to the sun setting turns into this beautiful colour and is just the best time to take photos.
My son learnt about cameras and other little bits that I know and we had a lovely time just the both of us which is a rare thing what with the other two taking up most of my time.
Until next time
What an amazing month was June? I am not one to enjoy the sunshine but our county was one of the driest in england with barely any rainfall, so much so that the grass is yellow from how dry it is, Nothing honestly happened during the month of June, a lot of sunshine, a lot of beautiful flowers and plenty of cute little fledglings, we did go for a walk to the town park and found some huge pine cones which we are going back to get at some point for some autumn and Christmas craft ideas that I have, Yes I did just utter the C word in a post about June!!
World Cup fever is also in full bloom with lots of St George’ flags flying at local pubs.
June was a good month for me, I had a goal to make sure my third year blogging would be a good one and it is so far, I have made new friends and got in touch with old ones, worked really hard on talking to brands and I am now 100% addicted to Instagram now that I am working on sort of a theme and trying to be a bit more creative with that..
June was a good month 🙂
This linky was created by the beautiful Caitylis and you can find her post here if you want to join in.
July will be full of wonderful photos from our travels as we are off to Birmingham to visit my lovely baby group ladies and we are off to Weymouth for the weekend to meet the amazing Becca from My Girls and Me and her family which I cannot wait for, While I am excited the hayfever season is almost over and we are now two months from autumn, I really have enjoyed this summer..
Despite the heat of course.
I know I know, I missed last weeks…. and I think the week before? This heat has really made me not want to blog much and all I wanted to do was sit and sweat and of course complain about the weather!
But today is the first of July, summer is slowly moving on and my countdown to autumn is getting shorter.
One of the blessings of summer however is the plants, insects and clear skies! These two just show that, bees as it turns out are extremely hard to photograph (they just won’t sit still) and the moon has been looking amazing too so naturally I had to use my Nikon coolpix to its advantage and get that super zoom on!
Going into a new month with such a positive outlook on life, expect plenty more photos and of course the monthly ‘sightings’ linky which should be up mid of next week!
Happy July everyone!
